The company supplies this pipe sealant in coated multi-filament cord form that can be wrapped around external threads of the joint directly from a handy pocket sized container. The container is equipped with a built-in cutter to easily apply the right amount of cord. The cord has a proprietary coating to give right lubricity during joint tightening while the cord material itself is formulated for excellent vibration resistance and impacts and retain sealing under extreme conditions. Loctite 55 is suited for sealing metal and plastic tapered pipe threads and up to 6-inch diameter fittings. These pipe sealants are temperature resistant up to 130°c and seals high-pressure industrial and domestic pipelines instantly. The loctite 55 pipe sealant can be used to seal potable water and gas lines and provides significant advantages over traditional pipe jointing methods like ptfe tapes.
